Till Warweg

Till graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Information Science Polytechnic in Frankfurt/Main. He wrote his diplom thesis as part of a research project for developing user interface generators for database applications.

Till started out to venture into the in and outs of computer programming in his late teens, having become more and more annoyed by being restricted to the applications’ front-ends. Thereby, he discovered his passion for analyzing what’s going on behind the scenes. Various experimental projects were to follow; first using BASIC, later MC6800 assembler and finally also C/C++.

After finishing school, Till did a placement at Commodore Büromaschinen GmbH, where he bought his first computer, a Commodore Amiga 3000.

In 1997, Till joined Alaska Software straight from college, starting out as Junior Software Developer. His primary project was the development of Xbase++ for the Windows platform. Soon thereafter, he assumed responsibilities in maintaining and enhancing Xbase++’s user interface functionalities. His special interest, and maybe therefore his strong suit are the Graphics Engine and the component library built into Xbase++ (Xbase Parts). Till is also involved in various other areas of product development at Alaska Software. For example, he is a key member in the Visual Xbase++ project team.

Till was born in 1970. Apart from his interest in computing, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, exercising, and reading a good book.
